Peterborough Volunteer Centre helps people to find suitable volunteer positions. We also help organisations, charities, self-help groups and not-for-profit organisations to find volunteers. Please contact us to make an appointment
The Volunteer Centre is located in the city centre and is hosted by the Council for the Voluntary Services. This brings many benefits including reception and administration support as well as complementing other projects also managed by CVS. The centre sees a great mix of cultures and skill levels and in the city we work very closely with other people-supporting agencies. The centre is open 9am-5pm Monday-Thursday and 9am-4pm Fridays. Most volunteer interviews are on Tuesdays by appointment. We manage the National Database for Volunteer opportunities www.do-it.org.uk for the Peterborough area and encourage potential volunteers to use this site. We have 3 part-time volunteers supporting the work of our centre and 1 member of staff. We help organisations, charities and non-for-profit groups to recruit, support and retain volunteers. We are able to offer training to organisations in these areas. We are currently leading in developing a Volunteer Strategy for Peterborough; we also facilitate Volunteer Peterborough, the Specialist Network group for Volunteering.
